Guest Post by Joseph & Curtis: Our Top 3 Wine Cellars
Joseph & Curtis Custom Wine Cellars is a company specialized in designing and manufacturing high-end wine cellars across the United States. Their work features in luxurious villas and apartments from New York City to California, through Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, or Texas.
Joe Kline and Curt Dahl met in the 1990s as they were both traders at the CME Group (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) and were sharing a passion for wine. They have since dedicated their time to helping fine wine buyers acquire and store their wine in outstanding cellars.
We have asked them to reveal and tell us more about the very finest wine cellars they designed and built.
The following Guest Post was written by Joseph Kline for Social Vignerons.
“The Top 3 wine cellars we ever built:
Being a complete custom wine cellar design firm we have seen our share of pretty cool work…but these three are the ones that really stick out.
#3 Was a complete gut and re-build (room was a gym)
The room holds about 3,000 bottles and has (2) climate control systems which are built into the wine racks. The large brick arch was actually a metal I beam (supporting parts of the basement) that we dressed in real brick and created the arch.
The wine racks are built out of Sapele Mahogany and so are the double doors. A custom tasting table finishes off the space and allows the owner and guests some horizontal space to either decant, or help organize the wine cellar.
#2 Is a custom stainless steel wine cabinet that holds 1,000 bottles
The ultra quiet Joseph and Curtis cooling system is hidden (trade secret) but keeps the unit a perfect 56 degrees. UV glass ensures no harmful light can enter any bottles.
#1 Is a two story wine cellar that holds over 4500 bottles!
The basement wine cellar was designed with a Tuscan theme and is very different then the upper cellar…both are beautiful in their own way and allow the owner to have the best of both worlds! The downstairs cellar also boasts an incredible tasting room as well! Cheers!”
