Wine cellars are a popular -if not viral- topic on Social Media.
Who doesn’t dream to own one of these underground wonders, or at least visit one for a while, just long enough to pick up a few humble bottles for a night of shared enjoyment?
But there’s wine cellar and wine cellar. From simple shelves under the kitchen sink like most of us have (well, sort of…) to absolute marvels of design, architecture or history.
Images of wine cellars of all sizes and shapes are shared constantly on Social Media. Our calculations show that the term wine cellar is in fact tweeted about at least ten times in every hour. See for yourself in a ‘wine cellar’ Twitter search.
But to find out really which wine cellars have made most of us dream in this world, we’ve dug Twitter in search for the most shiny wine cellar nuggets, the ones Social Media has been buzzing about most over the past year.
We’ve uncovered the 5 buried spectacles that have most stuck our imagination over the past months, and reveal here the Top Dream Wine Cellars gone most viral on Social Media, generating thousands of shares:

Spiral Staircase Wine Cellar
It is believed this image originated from Spiralcellars.co.uk, builders of luxury wine cellars in the UK.
It was tweeted by Architecture & Design on 8th October 2014.
We’ve found another angle (pictured on the right) clearly showing how despite the impressive and attractive look of this underground spiral wine cellar, this is actually a very dangerous piece of equipment to install between kitchen and dinning area when guests are expected to enjoy more than one glass of wine in a night.

Kevin Jonas’ New Cellar
We are delighted to learn than Kevin Jonas is such a amateur of great crus, especially since Jonas Werner Homes delivered his new wine cellar on 22d March 2014.
He has certainly assembled here what looks like a beautiful collection we are hoping to be invited to sample some day soon.
I have counted 486 bottles visible in the first row alone. This sounds like like a lot of history to be unearthed once the wines are fully matured. Worth inviting connoiseur friends Kevin 😉

Luxury Under-Stair Cupboard
This post by Julien Miquel, on 25th May 2015, seems to have revealed how much of a struggle for space many of us are facing in life, especially when we need to store a few thousands of wine bottles.
The solutions seems to be in buying less shoes and converting the under-stair cupboard into a wine cellar.
In addition, storing your leather shoes in this compartment immediately after coming back from work should maintain the appropriate humidity level and ensure the development of a complex aromatic bouquet in the bottles

A Cosy Humble English Home
The Australian Wine Wankers, via the UK Telegraph, revealed on 9th March 2015 how the English countryside around the vineyards of Kent hosts some of the world’s best homes for wine lovers. Estimated at £3.5m, the house comes with a brick wine cellar entirely furnished with a couple of chairs and a 3-feeted hand-made wooden table.

The Longest Wine Cellar in the World
According to Britwit.co, the longest wine cellar in the world is not as one would expect in France or Italy, but indeed an Estearn European country between Ukraine and Romania: in Moldova.
It would count with nearly 2 million bottles and tunnels, stretching over 120 miles (of which only 34 miles are used).
Suddenly this makes, all of the above wine cellars despite their amazing design and hundreds of bottles…. seem small !
Despite a through research through Twitter to find the most shared wine cellars, it is possible that we have missed some popular ones. If you know of any, please let us know by leaving a comment and link in the comments area below. Cheers 🙂
