Score 90/100
Tasting Notes:
The aromas deliver plenty of stonefruit characters: fresh and dried apricots, as well as dominant white peach notes. There’s honey, muscat grapes too. Classic Gewurz notes on the nose.
This is an easy to drink wine that doesn’t take the Gewurztraminer style too seriously, but rather on the fun approachable style. It’s off-dry to medium-dry so a little sweet, but not too sweet. An enjoyable oily texture gives the wine some weight but also underlines a slight lack of acidity.
Overall:
An intensely aromatic and super-fruity wine that drinks like a complex fruit juice.
Complex and one feels the wine has come from very concentrated and nurtured grapes. Good aromatic complexity, and well executed wine.
Food Pairing:
Ideal with hot Asian cuisine if you like some sweetness with it in a wine that is not shy of fruity flavors and aromas. Some strong dry cheeses will also benefit from the wine’s concentration and aromatic intensity. Enjoy 🙂
