This is the Non-Vintage ‘entry-level’ Champagne cuvee by Champagne Geoffroy that represents 60% of the winery’s production.
It is a blend 50% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir, and 10% Chardonnay from the Premier Cru Champagne village of Cumières.
The bottle tasted was disgorged in Spetember 2015 and tasted in April 2016.
Tasting Notes:
The wine smells very fragrant, smooth, fruity (tropical + citrus) and coated in a wealth of brioche character. It’s also floral, zesty, and refreshing.
The palate also is super smooth with a velvety and slightly-tannic texture, wih solid mineral acidity.
Flavors are filled with rich buttery brioche as well as plenty of exuberant lemon notes.
A touch of spices (white pepper) and a lisght oxydative character (walnut) increase depth and compexity.
