Winery Notes about the Wine:
“It is the SGN we are the most proud of as it is produced only twice per decade.
Riesling is our most demanding grape variety, it is also the latest to ripen. Very capricious when it comes to noble rot development, it expresses its quintessence on the Schoenenbourg.”
Tasting Notes:
Intensely spicy and fruity nose: dried fruits, dried apricots, dates.
This is a very rich wine, filled with a great concentration of aromas and flavors. Yet the overall feel is rather savory, from the botrytis (noble rot) character.
It’s elegantly balanced, not too sweet which allows the powerful and complex layers of flavors to be perceived without any overpowering presence of sugar.
A myriad of dried fruits and sweet spices parade on the balanced palate all the way through the tasting and onto a long complex finish.
