Score: 83/100
This wine is made by Domaine Joseph Mellot from 100% Pinot Gris grapes.
The overall packaging is very appealing with its lace label and its transparent bottle revealing the elegant pink color of the wine in a form of sensuality.
Tasting Notes
The wine comes in a pale salmon pink color.
It’s somehow bright and intense, the orange and yellow in the hue is intense, but the overall color is a little pale. It’s more yellow than your average ‘gris’ pale pink rosé though.
The nose is lifted and fruity, with medium intensity. Ripe warm fruit like apricot and white peach are accompanied by a cherry stone character providing an intriguing slightly vegetal touch to the smell.
The palate is dry, with a distinct saltiness and bitterness on the finish. Mid-body, is acidity is also a little shy.
A rosé wine with a distinctive savoriness to the mouthfeel but plenty of fruity flavors.
