Tasting Notes
This wine comes in a bright lemon-yellow color, of medium intensity. Nothing outstanding on the look but it is bright and shiny!
Can I say the nose is even shinier?
It is filled with fresh primary fruit characters: lemon (yes like the color) but also lime, some white peach and a touch of fresh pineapple. Some floral characters too, light honey tones.
You’ve got the point, it has the aromatic profile of fresh Chardonnay grapes in a bubbly that smells like it was made to preserve the fruit characters. Fruity but elegant thanks to its noble origin in Burgundy.
The palate is dry but very smooth with silky, textural, and fine bubbles.
Flavors are in line with the fruity nose, but add some mineral bite from a crispy acidity, and a subtle touch of vegetal characters, an enjoyable one like acacia matched with discrete phenolics giving away some bitterness to the finish.
The whole feels crisp but balanced, extrovert yet elegant, ready to be paired with food thanks to the acidity and a little bitter finish.
This Brut Nature did not receive any dosage (added sugar), and frankly it definitely didn’t needed it. The fruit characters are ripe and luscious enough. So is the body and oily finely-bubbled texture.
Enjoy 🙂
