Tasting Notes
This Alsatian Pinot Gris comes in a delicate lemon-yellow color of medium intensity.
The nose however is exuberantly fragrant!
Heaps of acacia honey (both floral, smelling slightly sweet, but with a vegetal edge) and intense mandarin aromas. It’s very fruity and expressive, floral with a hint of white pepper lifting it up.
The palate sensation is round and smooth with a rather oily texture, and an off-dry sweetness level. It’s not frankly sweet, but the sugars are well present and make themselves feel overpowering the slightly-weak acidity.
Plenty of ripe and rich citrus flavors are joined by vegetal acacia ones that convert into a hint of bitterness to the finish.
Overall
A super-fragrant, richly fruity and citrusy Pinot Gris with pure clean flavors that is full of ripeness.
It comes in an off-dry style that is refreshing but also has some lusciousness from residual sweetness many love in this style of powerful Pinot Gris wine.
Enjoy 🙂
