Tasting Notes
This Bordeaux wine comes in a rather dark color for the Bordeaux Supérieur category, quite an intense red color with purple hues to the rim, suggesting there is some ripeness in there.
The nose talks ripe berry fruits indeed, with black cherry, blackberry and a touch of blackcurrant too.
Add some vanilla, dark roasted cocoa, almost coffee-like, clove and sweet spices like nutmeg, and you’re in for a predominantly fruity and rich aromatic profile, hybrid between a black forest cake and ginger bread.
The palate is smooth, with good oily texture, mid-bodied, with some tannic concentration, and tannins a little dry to the finish.
The dark cherry flavors dominate making it feel quite luscious, although it is dry with just a touch of sweetness sensation from the ripe fruit.
Overall
A good approachable, somewhat simple yet serious Bordeaux wine filled with dark ripe fruit richness and a smooth pleasing feel.
Enjoy 🙂
