Spy Valley winery is a famous and popular Kiwi wine producer based in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough.
The grapes for this Gewurstraminer wine were sourced from the Johnson Vineyard, so it is virtually a single vineyard wine from the Southern Valleys area of the famous Marlborough region, New Zealand.
After harvest and pressing, the must was very slowly fermented at a very low temperature, before a maturing on its lees in stainless steel tanks for 7 months.

Tasting Notes
This Kiwi Gewurztraminer comes in a lemon-yellow color of medium intensity. Not much really notable about it, but it’s bright and shiny.
The nose however, bursts with powerful and luscious aromas.
OMG, it smells almost more of a Muscat than your standard Gewurz!
Super-floral (elderflower and lily), pungently tropical, and filled with gorgeously ripe citrus fruits.
The palate if off-dry to medium-sweet, but balanced by a nice mineral acidity. Mid-body, with a few salivating phenolics on the finish giving a slight bitterness and bringing in a touch of savoriness to this world of fruit exuberance.
Overall
A pungent and hyper-aromatic version of a Gewurztraminer, with pure and clean fruity and floral characters and a sugar/acidity balance that makes it extremely palatable and easy to sip and appreciate.
Enjoy 🙂
