Tasting Notes
This wine from the Vinho Verde area of Portugal comes in a lemon-yellow color of medium intensity. Nothing outstanding about it, but it’s bright and shiny.
The nose is fresh and mineral, a little grassy and overall quite neutral. Very subtle floral notes make it smell like a paddock, fresh grass of little flowers.
Dry with crispy acidity, it provides a refreshing tangy and citrusy feel, with a salivating slightly salty and vegetal finish. A good overall balance between freshness and grassy character, with ripe lemon flavors, and oily body.
I regretted what appeared to me as an excess of sulphites (SO2) bringing a harsh mineral and sulphuric feel to the palate. Unfortunate ☹
But a wine with good overall balance and interesting complexity.
Enjoy 🙂
