This Minervois rosé wine from Languedoc is a blend of Syrah and Grenache.
Tasting Notes
This Languedoc rosé comes in an elegant salmon pink color, a bright and slightly pale pink with both orange and delicate purple hues giving it a certain glamour.
The nose is dominated by smoky notes of tar. Some pear and pomegranate, but the fruit is discrete behind the sulfuric reductive components.
Pleasant dry palate with zesty acidity, it’s crisp and refreshing. Excellent balance of a citrusy acidity with and overall smooth and watery, very refreshing feel.
Tasty zesty lemon flavors, as well as raspberry, lifted by some white pepper.
An excellent very well balanced dry rosé, juicy and invigorating, it bursts with intense and upfront fruity flavors, to finish on a salivating finish from touches of bitter phenolics, just like the biting yet enjoyable greenness in a lime.
Unusually for a rosé, I’d recommend letting it breathe a little before serving and temper its slight reductive edge. Uncork the bottle in your fridge at least one hour prior to enjoying.
Cheers 🙂
