Tasting Notes
This Provence rosé wine comes in an elegant pale salmon pink color, with shiny gold hues and a touch of purple. Pleasing to the eye like we like to see in this typical fresh pink wine style.
The nose is also elegance, with some ‘je ne sais quoi’ of French finesse to it. The iodine mineral-feel perhaps, like the uncatchable smell of a sea breeze…
Yet, this rosé smells distinctively fruity but also herbal. Pomegranate and grapefruit come to mind straight away at smelling the wine, from being so precise and cutting through the aromatic profile.
You’ll also find freshly-squeezed lemon and lime, a touch of vegetal fennel character, a lifted spicy white pepper tone, and a hint of orange peel. All of the good and appetizing zesty stuff in there to be smelt!
The palate features a crisp dryness and salivating mineral acidity. But the whole is well balanced by a round-enough body, and the delicate sweetness-feel from intense ripe citrus flavors. Fresh ripe blueberry notes amplify the overall impression of solid fruitiness.
Hints of drying phenolics make the wine taste somewhat salty in the end, a positive savory touch that makes you salivate, makes you want to go for another sip, and promises this is a food-friendly wine meant to be paired with tasty summery foods. I’ll leave you chose this part, but picturing Provence herbs-scented green olives, anchovies on toast, or a creamy salmon pasta dish…
Enjoy 🙂
