So you too can get to know Cathrine better, in a quick Q&A interview, I’ve asked her to tell us more about herself and her blog.
Meet Cathrine Todd:
Can you summarize who you are and what your wine blog does?
I use storytelling, sharing personal stories about myself or those of the wine producers I meet, to share a deeper experience of wine from around the world.
When did you start your wine blog and why?
I had worked in the wine business for many years, both in retail and wholesale distribution sales, as well as had an extensive wine education – at one point, I felt as though I was losing my personal connection to wine, and so, starting a blog was a way to reignite my love for it.
What topic(s) does your blog cover and how do you generally describe the angle to your writing?
I cover wines from all over the world as I meet producers from around the globe on a regular basis. I am a wine generalist that has a wide range of experience, but it is important to me to find a personal connection and to take the reader on a journey.
What are your favorite wine events? In other words: if fans would like to meet you in person someday, where are they sure to find you?
I just came back from the Wine Bloggers Conference and it is my favorite event because I am always looking to find new ways to communicate about wine. There are a lot of great people who take different approaches with not only writing but also photography, video and combining other passions with their stories about wine.
What are your favorite social media channels, the ones you like most to exchange and engage around your content?
I love Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and I exchange and engage on all of these channels on a daily basis – I am a social media junkie. If I see someone else communicating about wine in an interesting way, I will definitely follow back.
Finally, what do you do to relax outside of wine?
I love spending alone time with my husband, aka partner in crime, aka the love of my life.
