Score: 87/100
Pianeta Organico Pinot Grigio, an Italian wine from the Veneto region distributed by Aldi in the UK, is made by the organic producer Corvezzo (and popular maker of organic prosecco) who, as the wine’s back label highlights, “have devoted themselves to growing their grapes without herbicides or pesticides, and to produce all their wines to strict sustainability principles.”
This is a certified organic wine that is knowing a great success and is much appreciated by wine lovers in Great Britain.
Overall Review Notes & Tasting Impressions
With a bright and shiny, and slightly pale lemon-yellow color, this Italian Grigio also shines by the vibrancy of its aromatic profile. It’s zesty and super-citrusy, with notes of lime and freshly squeezed lemon dominating the smell.
The palate is just as invigorating, dry and crisp with a hint of effervescence (fine bubbles) teasing you taste buds for even more freshness.
Flavors are pure and fruity, fresh acidic and lemon juice, with a hint of apricot as well as a floral elderflower character sweetening and coating things up in a satisfying floral fruitiness.
A very well executed Pinot Grigio, crisp and refreshing as we like and expect from the style, adding a pleasing purity of flavors, a clear fresh fruit feel and a welcome phenolic dryness to the finish that will make it a food-friendly choice for any pairing with summery dishes, salads, barbecues and mild cheeses.
Enjoy 🙂
