The Cuvée Royale Rosé bubbly is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, re-fermented in bottle (methode traditionelle) and aged on lees in the bottle for 12 months.
Overall Tasting Impressions
Coming with a delicate and quite glamorous pale salmon-pink color, this sparkling from Bordeaux displays a vibrant aromatic profile.
Elegant notes of strawberry and cream, pomegranate and grapefruit, and tied in with roasted hazelnut and brioche scents from the ageing on lees. Tempting, fruity, and slightly buttery to smell at. Like sniffing freshly-baked buttery dessert, covered in mixed berries and fruit coulis. Clearly tempting!
The palate is very soft, and also creamy.
Fairly dry, although with just enough sugars to accentuate the fruity profile. Bubbles and very fine and smooth. Leesy savory flavors soy complement the acidic fresh red berries for a lean, precise yet interesting whole with some depth.
A very well made rosé bubbly, light and aerial therefore very easy to enjoy. Crisp, dry and zesty from a combination of delicate fruit characters including a wealth of citrus.
To this enjoyable upfront fruity approach, Cuvée Royale adds the depth and complexity we appreciate rom a good Crémant that’s spent enough time ageing on lees: buttery and nutty tones providing great smoothness and an interesting complexity to taste.
