Overall Wine Review Notes & Tasting Impressions
A Bordeaux white with a bright and shiny lemon-yellow color, that hits your sense, and your nose first with pungent tropical and slightly grassy aromas.
Luscious passion fruit and fresh pineapple come through vibrantly the aromatic profile, while crisp pear, and freshly-squeezed lemon complement the fruitiness. A clear boxwood scent reminds us we are here with a Sauvignon Blanc-based wine made in Bordeaux (some would describe as cat pee, but very elegant here because surrounded by so much fruit character).
Rather complex, and certainly pleasing to smell from such precise and abundant fruit character!
This is a dry white, with crisp acidity well balanced by a feeling of fruity lusciousness again as far as flavor are concerned. Mid-body but a burst of tropical pineapple, ripe mango and always with a powerful passion fruit expression.
Hidden sweet tones of lemony caramel and roasted hazelnut suggest the wine may have seen some oak and/or been skillfully worked on lees but its subtle and discrete, adding depth and a sense of spiciness.
Truly an excellent white Bordeaux wine, filled with a complex fruity expression, as well as depth and a very well-crafted balance.
I’ve got no hesitation to recommend should you come across it.
This is a white wine for seafood dishes and lively entrée or antipasti. A wine that shines with fruit, filled with sunshine and the built-in freshness to satisfy any thirst on a warm or hot summer night with friends…
Enjoy 🙂
