Well I guess if that's what they decide!
'Drinking less wine' is not necessarily the goal, 'moderation' as you say is the goal, rather than drinking less wine overall. But hey, if that's better for all, at least we're informed. Cheers Christy ??

It's true, a larger wine glass is better for powerful wines, especially aged reds. But it's proven than using smaller glassware tends to reduce someone's wine intake by giving the impression we're having more while drinking less ?

I can imagine that using smaller wine glasses will reduce your wine consumption, but unfortunately it will also spoil the experience of drinking (good) wines, which really need some space in the glass to release their aromas., don't they?

In reply to <a href="https://socialvignerons.com/2017/03/15/calories-in-wine-top-7-facts/#comment-903">sasha (@sachabeegood)</a>.

Tx for stopping by Sasha, and taking the time to write your thoughts here :-)
Yes, wine does contain alcohol and any drinker has to be aware of the consequences to be responsible, hence this article as well as others like the Top 7 Facts about Sulphites in Wine (see http://socialvignerons.com/2017/03/02/sulphites-so2-in-wine-top-7-facts/ ).
That said, wine has less of the negative impacts your talking about (like dehydration) than hard liquors, being obviously much less concentrated in alcohol and having a fair amount of water and nutrients in it as well. Wine also has some elements in its composition that are actually postive for health.
Scienctific studies seem to suggest that wine in moderation is actually good for you. In excess though as you point out, it's not :-)
Take care. Julien :-)

So happy that someone took the time to analyze wine and it's composition. Too many people believe they can drink as much as they want without ramifications. Not so.Liver and kidney disease along with diabetes can occur with over indulging. Thank you so much for mentioning the importance of drinking water with wine. Dehydration can occur with drinking too much alcohol. Lastly. people who drink too much bubbly can become alcoholic, an actual dependency on the alcohol. Less is more when drinking and you even enjoy it better, I think.
