Tasting Notes
With a dense bright red color, this wine looks nearly black to the core, bright red to the rim.
The nose is not shy of intense aromas. It is powerfully fruity, dark and spicy all at the same time. Dark ripe cherries join blackberry in the extrovert fruity front of the aromatic profile.
Dark cocoa with a touch of vanilla, some wood smoke and deep clove cover the well-integrated oaky notes. Personality and pungency is given by loads of herbal, thyme, rosemary and black pepper notes.
Put the wine in your mouth, and you are stroke by it flavor intensity, dense and rather granulous and some edgy tannins, together with plenty of vibrant acidity underlining the berry fruit flavors.
Overall
This baby of a Languedoc wine shows a big heart filled with dense tannins, a wealth of acidity, complex and deep both fruity and herbal flavors.
Dry, it is driven by juicy red berry fruit characters but all at once also savory and very spicy, peppery too. A leathery character some that are sensitive to it might find a little strong.
When to Drink?
A wine to hold for another 3 to 5 years. Allow it to age, evolve and breathe for this time for full enjoyment.
From there, you’ll be able to enjoy its characterful expression between 2020 and 2035, worth then perhaps stocking up a case or two!
Enjoy ?
