Fair enough man. It’s not perfect for sure. I guess it’s built for the ‘average’ wine consumer so it doesn’t have all the complex tools CT has. They’re focused on monetizing as well now more than anything else…

Vivino is kind of clunky when you are a professional. No 20 or 100 points, and the 5 star rating is used in an somewhat naive style by many. I would never rate a wine 5, because that represents 20/98 IMHO, which I have given maybe 5 times in many thousand tastings.
Other issues: you cannot add a tasting note later on with the original date (or others and myself did not find the feature) and you cannot share your cellar data with others (not even friends/followers).
So I stay with cellar tracker until something better and fitting comes up.

I left the sugar out because I wanted to taste it without sugar first. I don’t like sweet drinks. I made ice cubes with the remaining orange juice and the next day instead of ice, added the frozen OJ ice cubes. I also added a little maple syrup as some sweetener was necessary. What can I say? A very delicious sangria and I like the fact that there was no diluting it with water or soda etc. The fruit was very potent:). Thank you for the recipe. Will definitely make it the same way again. I used a bottle of Apothik red and a Rioja. Next time will use lighter Spanish wine as suggested above.

I guess wine is a bit of niche, not that many people are very involved, and many connoisseurs don’t necessarily use apps for it, so many wine app companies are short in budget and resources to invest on Android which is often a bit of an after-thought. They run the proof on concept on iPhone, but then struggle to make enough money to justify developing for Android, and the app falls behind there. I worked for a few wine app companies myself, and that’ often how it goes internally. I guess it’ll change a bit with more and more Android phones these days. Cheers 🙂

I agree with your selection. It is just a shame that so many are not available on Android. There is another cellaring app that I use: Kellermeister which is free.

Cheers Jurgen. Well, none can be perfect, There’s always going to be obscure or new wine no one has scanned before. Someone has to be the first to scan a wine at some point. I wouldn’t take this as a proof that wine apps are bad, but as an opportunity to contribute to the community, being the first to add information about a wine on it. You know, ‘giving’ to the community. Most are a free service so…
