Score: 89/100
This left-bank (Médoc) Bordeaux wine is the second label of Pauillac winery Château Pédesclaux.
It is a blend of 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged for 14 months in wine barrels (1/3 new and 2/3 used).

Tasting Notes
This Pauillac wine comes dark red color, bright and pure with hints of purple.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, yet somewhat deep in a typical Bordeaux-wine fashion. Clear blackcurrant with a hint of red capsicum (bell pepper) screams of Cabernet Sauvignon aromas. But it’s also simply peppery and spicy, a little chili-like mixed with sweet spices and toasted notes. It reminded me of these dark cocoa flavored with chili.
Pleasant, fresh and spicy to smell at!
The palate brings in good acidity balanced by a medium body and relatively smooth tannins. The fresh berry flavors are pleasant, and again, backed up with a wealth of spices.
The finish is a bit dry at this stage, but should round up with the years.
When to Drink?
Give it a couple of years at least to smoothen up. Drink between 3 to 10 years to make the most of the wine’s juicy fruit character but also benefit from the savory complexity it should develop with some aging.
Enjoy 🙂
