The Story behind Domaine Rety
Patrick Rety is the son of a French farmer who migrated to the United States in the 1960s.
Born in New York City, and after a successful career as an entrepreneur in his region of origin, Brittany, France, Patrick decided to make his mark in the wine world and invested in a small property in Southern France’s Roussillon wine region, in the department of Pyrénées-Orientales, part of the Languedoc-Roussillon.
Domaine Rety was born in 2012 when Patrick acquired his first hectare of Grenache and Syrah near Espira de l’Agly to makes its first vintages. From there in 2013, 2014, and 2015 Rety gathered a few more blocks to reach about 5-hectare of vineyard surface.
After the success and the growing demand for Domaine Rety’s wines, the estate has recently increased in size with new vineyards being acquired in 2018 Cases-de-Pène, for a total surface area now reaching 14 hectares (35 acres).

Domaine Réty Reb’L Côtes du Roussillon Rosé
Score: 90/100 points
Overall Tasting Notes: Very smooth and rounded, with a very oily texture that coats your palate enjoyably. This is a rich and quite powerful rosé boasting a solid 14% alcohol. A wealth of spicy notes of white pepper, plenty of enjoyable savory vegetal notes of acacia leaves and celery. Delicate velvety tannins give a slight drying feel and hints of bitterness for the savory side of the finish, suggesting this is a great wine for pairing with food.

Domaine Rety L’Insolente Red
Score: 91/100 Points
Overall Tasting Notes: A very serious and very charming Roussillon red, filled with gorgeous freshly-picked red berry fruits characters, that are greatly lifted by spices and herbs. It pleases by the easy-going, easy-to-drink nature of its softly-textured, crisp, and mineral palate. Yet, it also has the depth, juiciness, vinosity, and the savoriness of such flavors as black olive and clove to please those in search of profundity and personality beyond just upfront fruitiness.

Domaine Réty Côtes du Roussillon Red
Score: 93/100 Points
Overall Tasting Notes: A Roussillon wine with much character, depth and complexity. A world-class wine as you don’t come across that often from Roussillon, although the region now produces plethora of excellent wines, they’re not always at this level. Powerful, dense and concentrated, it delivers big bursts of flavors, and excitingly- vibrant aromas, with a sustained fruit freshness despite the obvious ripeness of the grapes.
