This Prestige Cuvée Champagne was COMMENDED at Social Vignerons Prestige Cuvée Champagne AWARDS.
This is a Non-Vintage Cuvée blended from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines from various vintages, the youngest of which is at least 5 years old. One of the 2 top cuvees by Devaux, the other being an Extra-Brut, the Ultra D (find review here).
This Champagne comes in a bright lemon-yellow color, medium intensity.
The nose is fresh and citrusy, with a distinct mineral iodine character. Medium intensity but very elegant and layered.
The palate feels dry overall, but some sugars are perceptible balancing the good acidity well. Fine oily texture and bubbles, marry a crisp citrusy acidity. Gorgeously rich flavors of ripe orange and orange blossom meet delicate nuttiness and leesiness. Long and layered finish on honey-like characters with delicate bitterness and subtle phenolics for a savory edge.
A complex and layered Champagne wine with great balance, and many facets of flavors, from fruit to secondary tones, rounded in a great acidic freshness and interesting textural effects.
Retails around $60 or 40€. Find this wine to buy on Wine-Searcher
