Tasting Notes
This Argentinian Malbec comes in a bright red color, rather dark although not too much so, you can still see through its vibrant red hues.
The nose seems rather restrained, dominated by savory notes of black olive and dark spices (clove and black pepper), with herbal scents (like thyme) and hints of vanilla and cocoa. Rather pleasing to smell at, though the ripe plum aromas are discrete.
Medium body, and not too dense tannins for a Malbec, it is a bit granulous and grippy to the finish. But a good acidity with fresh red berry flavors make it easy to approach and enjoy, it is dry with slight bitterness to the finish which will make it friendly with rich meaty dishes.
Overall
An enjoyable humble red typically meaty as we like Malbec to be, a discrete fruity character well complemented by much savory notes of spices and herbs, and mellowed by well-integrated oak.
Enjoy 🙂
