Overall Review Notes & Tasting Impressions
With a sustained red color filled with touches of orange hues, and a bit of a hazy appearance, this Spanish Tempranillo shines with vibrant aromas of orange blossom and orange peel, intense raspberry notes and a minty/black pepper, like pepper mint spiciness to the nose.
Tannins are soft mellowed by a round and smooth body. This is a dry red bursting with intense citrusy notes of grapefruit and lemon, but also a big burst of sweet spices and vanilla from what tastes like a solid ageing in used barrels, possibly under the strong influence of American oak.
Flavors are intense and explode on the palate with intent and intensity, although the wine always feels smooth enjoyably caressing your taste buds. The tannins do acquire a bit of a velvety granulous edge towards the finish giving it character and a salivating savory feel.
A well made Spanish wine, infused with the powerful and characterful character of Tempranillo aged in oak and with some evolution. A heap of complex fruit characters and lifted by deep and rather complex notes of vanilla, clove, pepper and other spices, all combining into a long-lasting and punchy tasting experience like we like and somewhat expect from an oak-aged Spanish Tempranillo.
