Tasting Notes
This Bordeaux red from the Haut-Medoc area comes in a fairly dark red color for the style, looking relatively dense and intense.
The nose is pungently fruity and features powerful vanilla aromas. Dark cherry, blackberry and fresh raspberry notes provide a lively fruity feel to the aromatic profile, while hints of toast, caramel and the vanilla add generosity and appeal. Spicy white pepper and chili are clearly to be smelt too.
The palate is soft and rather oily at first, quite smooth, although grippy and edgy tannins kick in from the mid-palate on and grip your taste buds o the finish, somewhat in a typical Bordeaux wine fashion. Solid salivating acidity well balanced by a round-enough body.
Again, flavors are generous, fruity and rich from ripe berry characters combined with round oaky notes.
Overall
A well-made, ripe, generously fruity and spicy Bordeaux wine, approachable in style, yet delivering layers of soft roundness and a pleasing spiciness.
Enjoy 🙂
